Zues's obituary
Jesus "Zues" Chavez, 29, of Marion, OH, passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2022.
On May 09, 1993, Zues was born in Winchester, Virginia to Rafael Moreno Chavez and the late Mary Jane Rose. He was raised in Marion, Ohio and attended Marion Public Schools.
Zues was a wild one, starting from being a young, he would go to his sister Kat and hold both hands up and tell her "Pick me up sissy", and when she wouldn't he would stomp his feet and bang his head off the wall, then proceed to lay on the floor and kick and scream till she would pick him up. Or him and his friend making his friends little sibling jump off the diving bored even though she was scared, something she will never forget. Or when Zues and his older brother Mez walked their little homie Brandon to school because it was his first day of first grade and some kids started bullying their friend and Zues, Mez, and another friend came up to those kids. Zues got in the middle of everyone and protected his friend and from that day on they became brothers, Zues even called his friend his son because he was older than his friend saying things like "don't make ole dad whoop you". And when Zues and his friends would play UFC and although he was alright on fight night, he was smacking everybody (its a boxing game). He also loved giving his friends nicknames like he called his friend Colton Kool-Aid. Zues had a way of making his friends and loved ones feel like they belonged, and he showed them he got them. Like when would always tell his friend/brother Nico " if I got it, you got it". Nico said Zues always meant it too.
Zues was a strong, brilliant, funny, and stubborn man at times, but he was also a man who would help anyone in need. He lived his life privately and although many knew of him only few really knew him. His favorite colors were green and black, and he loved him some Ohio State and Steelers football. But what he loved more than anything was his kids. They were the most important people in his life, and he wanted both of them to know that and to never forget their daddy loved them. Zues was someone that despite what he had been through in his life, he always came out on top. And was always cracking jokes even when he wasn't the happiest. He was definitely a one-of-a-kind type of man and there will never be another like him.
Zues will be dearly missed by his father Rafael, two children Jesus Abraham Chavez and Jaycee Khalea Chavez, grandma Esta Mae Rose, sister Katerina (Raegan) Maria Rose, brother Paul Jason Barnett, and fiancé Maria Abrams. And of course, his many friends and family.
He is Preceded in death by his grandpa Orvie Morris Rose, mother Mary Jane Rose, and brother James "Mez" Wesley Chavez.
A burial service of his ashes will be on November 12, 2022, at Grand Prairie Cemetery and Monuments, at 10am. The family wants everyone to know that you are more than welcome to come but please keep it respectful and peaceful.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to put towards a headstone for Zues.
Long Live Zues!!!
