Jessy's obituary
Jessy Leon Polson, 85, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, leaving a lifetime of cherished memories among his loved ones. He was born on May 24, 1939, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, where he then moved to Orlando and spent most of his life.
Jessy worked for Landstar System driving trucks for the majority of his career. Visiting around the country, he was sure to return with a story from each place he traveled. When he wasn’t on the road, he could be found on the St. Johns River, where he loved spending time on his boat, fishing. He also had a deep passion for antique cars and took great pride in his collection, enjoying the opportunity to share his love for them with others.
He is survived by his sister, Deborah P. Bailey; his children, Jerry Polson and Laura Burns (Terry); his grandchildren, Lee Polson (Lisa), Grant Polson (Courtlyn), Connor Jones, Robert Burns, and Lauren Burns; his great-grandchildren, Lilah Polson and Lilly Kate Polson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aline and Harold Polson; his daughter, Lisa Polson; and his siblings, Robert and Jerry Polson.
Those who knew Jessy remember his infectious smile, generosity, strong will, and unwavering love for his friends and family. He will be missed very dearly but close in our hearts. Per his wishes, there will not be a formal service. The family will have a celebration of life in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marlboro County Humane Society.
