Jessie's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jessie Jackson who peacefully passed away on January 26, 2025, having been born to Jodie and Alma Milton on March 3, 1927. Her life, although long and fruitful, ended far too soon and she is sorely missed by her family, friends, and the community.
Jessie was a vibrant, spirited woman full of life and love. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mount Zion Chapel A.M.E. Church, where she served as an honorary member of the Usher Board until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Jessie's profound faith was an integral part of her life, and it no doubt influenced her love for the Bible, one of her favorite books.
Although she was predeceased by her sons, William and Earley Jackson, Jessie's legacy continues with her loving daughter, Faye Jackson. Her love also extends to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye. Each of them carries with them Jessie's spirit and will continue to honor her memory in their lives.
Jessie had an array of passions and interests in life, among them included a love for scrumptious chicken wings, gospel music, and the TV show LmN. Her enthusiasm for life was also evident in her favorite local pastime, volleyball, and her favored shade of blue, a reflection of her tranquil and peaceful nature.
Her loss is immeasurable, but so was the love and joy she brought to those around her. She will be remembered not just as a loving mother and grandmother, but also as a faithful servant of Christ, a friend, and an inspiration to all who had the privilege to know her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all she touched, and her memory will forever be etched in our minds. Jessie Jackson, you may have left this world, but you will never leave our hearts.
