Jessica's obituary

Sadly, Jessica Lyn Menchion-D’Amore, 51, of Salem, NH, passed away, surrounded by her family on December 31, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack NH, after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.

She was born on August 15, 1973, to Robin Homoleski and Michael Menchion. Jessica was raised in Brookline, NH, attending local schools until moving to Hawaii where she graduated from Wahiawa Community High School.

Jessica began her career in data entry and with her strong drive and work ethic, quickly climbed the ladder to eventually hold the title of Senior Project Manager. Most recently, Jessica held the position of Customer Success Manager at HCLTech in Chelmsford, MA.

Outside of the office, Jessica was a loving wife to her husband and beloved mother to her four children. She loved to hone her creative and artistic eye by using her keen design and crafting skills which were a true passion of hers. She loved helping others with design and decorating ideas for their homes. She also loved event planning and was the queen of hosting, often speaking of her desire to become a wedding and event planner. Jessica always went well above and beyond when it came to decorating for any event or holiday, especially Christmas. Even in her final weeks, she had her room in the hospice house looking like a Christmas wonderland so that it would feel more like home.

In the fall of 2020, Jessica received her metastatic breast cancer diagnosis. She took on this fight with courage and grace and became an advocate for others with metastatic breast cancer by choosing to share her difficult journey through social media so that she might help others take solace in, and be inspired by her story. This attitude towards her disease resulted in her being chosen by her doctors at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA, to be part of a news report about cancer treatments in America that was being filmed by an Italian news crew visiting the United States. The report aired in Italy and parts of Europe in the fall of 2024.

Jessica is survived by her beloved husband, Randy D’Amore; her loving children, Cameron Michalewicz, Julia Christian and her husband Michael, Nicholas Michalewicz and Connor D’Amore; her siblings, Angela Campbell and her husband Robert, Heather Berube and her husband David, and Melissa Menchion and her partner James Reid; her stepmother/ bonus mom, Karen Menchion; as well as many, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by both her mother and father.
