Jessica's obituary

Jessica Lizyness

August 24, 1989 – March 15, 2026

Jessica Lizyness, 36, of Oak Grove, Kentucky, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Clarksville, Tennessee, surrounded by love.

Growing up in Brighton, Michigan, Jessica developed a love for animals and a devotion to family that would define her life. She married the love of her life, Matt, 14 years ago, and proudly stood beside him through his service in the United States Army — the kind of strength and dedication that defined who she was. Together they built a beautiful life and family, centered around their daughter, Harper, who was her greatest joy.

Jessica had a natural gift for love — for her family, for her daughter, and for animals. She was smart, ambitious, and kind.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Matt; daughter, Harper; parents, Pam Shosey and Rick Shosey (Char); brothers, Nicolas Shosey, Gregory Shosey (Ariel), and Michael Ii; stepsisters, Kaylyn Johnston and Baylee (Trevor) Locklear; grandfather, Bill Jakobiak; and grandmother, Gloria Shosey.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wanda Jakobiak and Jack Shosey.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 711 Rickett Road, Brighton, Michigan 48116, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following the Mass, a committal service will take place at the columbarium across the street, where Jessica’s ashes will be placed. Luncheon will follow.
