Jessica Basinger, 56, of Wendell, NC, passed away on June 19, 2025, in her home. 

Jessica, born on July 1, 1968, to George and Constance Marrier in Webster, Massachusetts, was the sixth of seven children. Her arrival was considered a miracle by her parents, who, in the wake of a traumatic accident, were told it was unlikely they would have any more children.  In her youth, she enjoyed playing softball, spending Saturdays helping her father with his custodial work, and was an active member of the Catholic Church. 

Jessica went on to graduate from Bartlett High School in 1986 with high honors. After high school, her adventurous spirit led her to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she would spend the remainder of her life. In 1988, she met Lewis Basinger, and the two were inseparable from that point on, bonding over video games, recreational softball, and a shared lifetime goal of starting a loving family. Lewis and Jessica were married for over 35 years of joy. The pair went on to have four children: Kayla (34), Samantha (31), Shaye (23), and Lewis Basinger Jr.(21).  

On May 13, 2022, Jessica became a grandmother for the first time to a beloved granddaughter, Alta Marie Saint Louis.  On September 10, 2024, her daughter Shaye welcomed a second child, Myriam Saint Louis. Jessica was an equally enamored grandmother to the two grandchildren she lost: Atlas Phillips in 2022 and Maera Phillips in 2023. 

Jessica was a fiercely dedicated mother to all of her children, raising all four of them to become accomplished and empathetic. She was a devoted 17-year Food Lion associate and a fierce friend to all she met. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. 

Jessica was predeceased by her parents, George and Constance Marrier, as well as her two grandchildren, Atlas and Maera Phillips. She is survived by her husband, Lewis Basinger; her children, Kayla Basinger, Samantha Basinger (William Phillips), Shaye Basinger, and Lewis Basinger Jr.; her granddaughters, Alta Marie St. Louis, and Myriam Saint Louis; and her siblings, Karen Mason, Nancy Marrier, Angel Marrier, George Marrier, Jimmy Marrier, and Brian Marrier. 

A visitation and memorial service will be held in Jessica's honor on July 11 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, at 4 P.M.
