Background
When Jerry was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer it had already spread to other organs, thus classifying it as stage IV. He had a mere 5 month journey from the day he was diagnosed until the day he passed.
Pancreatic cancer is difficult to detect, and nearly impossible to treat. It has no early warning signs and there are currently no effective screening tests.
Before 2030, pancreatic cancer is expected to be the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States.
