Jerry's obituary

Major Jerry Smith received orders to depart this world. He will be celebrated by his wife of 24 years, Patricia Smith, mother in law Gracie Hauck, two brothers and sister in laws Chief Master Sergeant Peter Franz and Brigetta Franz and Truman Smith and Bonita Smith, and his four daughters, two son in laws, and three daughter in laws: Lieutenant Jacquelyn Smith Kotlewski and Major Jason Kotlewski, Jessica Warren and Kayla Warren, Beverly Langston and Brett Langston, Jessica Spencer, Meagan Engledow, and Christopher Engledow and Devin Engledow. He also leaves behind his eleven grandchildren: Ryan McCann, Connor McCann, Jimmy Wright, Cameron Spencer, Lexi Spencer, Gracie Engledow, Lilli Engledow, Amelia Engledow, Maggie Engledow, Baylor Langston, and Bryxlynn Langston. Along with additional family members and friends.
Maj Smith was born in Hanau, Germany and later moved to the United States. Maj Smith Enlisted in 1972 as a Medical Specialist and was stationed in Germany. In 1976, Maj Smith returned to the US and attended ROTC at Arkansas Tech, and commissioned in 1980 as a Lieutenant in the US Army. After commissioning Maj Smith became a Calvary Officer was once again stationed in Germany where his oldest daughter, Jacqi, was born. Maj Smith then moved to the US and had daughters Jessie and Toni.
In 1996, Maj Smith married the love of his life Patti Smith and they joined families. Jerry and Patti retired in Palm Bay, Florida.
