Jerry's obituary
In Loving Memory of Jerry Pannell
August 11, 1961 – May 23, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Pannell, who departed this world surrounded by his loving family on May 23, 2025, at the age of 63 after a short but courageous health battle. Jerry was a truly kind-hearted man whose life was defined by unwavering love for his family, friends, and community.
Jerry is lovingly survived by his beloved “Honey Bun,” Rhonda, and his cherished children: son Robert "Money" (Taanya) and daughters Shalita, Danielle, Makayla, and Alivia. His adored grandchildren—“Papa’s Girls” Nydja, Makenzee, and A’Kayleh, along with “Papa’s Boys” Corey (CJ), Leon (Lil Man), Isaac, and Liam—brought him immense joy.
He also leaves behind his brothers Richard Bowles, Donald Bowles, Kenneth Tyler, and Thomas Smith; and his sister Ardena Cook. Among those closest to him are his six “sisters by choice”: Cindy Randolph, Chanda Randolph, Sheila Johnson, Sonya Moses, Pamela Randolph, Shaniki Athey; his “brother by choice” Kenneth Randolph and his nephew Torrell Tyler. His devoted friends, Leon “Big Cheese” Harris and William “Butch” Washington, remained by his side, as did his “sons by choice” Leon “Cheesie” Martin and Malrick "Jack" Cooley, along with his “daughter by choice,” Gloria "Cupcake" Cooley.
Jerry’s love and legacy extend to a host of nieces, nephews as well as many cousins and dear friends, all of whom he cherished deeply.
Jerry’s absence creates a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever shine in our hearts. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and purpose.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
