Jerry's obituary

Jerry Lee Haggard of Eastpointe, Michigan passed away at his home on February 5th, 2026 at the age of 71.

He was born January 12, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late William & Irene Haggard. He spent most of his life living in the metro area. He served in the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement, he worked for the Birmingham City schools in roles as a janitor and a bus driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jeremy and his siblings Betty, Larry and Geraldine.

Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Majoria. He also leaves behind his son, David (Jolien) of Dayton, Tennessee and three grandchildren, Jordyn, Josiah and Dakota; daughter-in-law, Sandra (Jeremy’s wife) of Madison Hts, Michigan and grandson Brenden and two great grandsons, Leelynd and Elliott.

Jerry is known by his family as a dedicated husband and father who made sacrifices to ensure they were provided for and that his children could grow up to pursue their interests and dreams. He fought through significant medical adversity later in life but continued to do as much as he could, for as long as he could.

His challenges ultimately led him to recognize his need for help and salvation; placing his trust in Jesus as his Savior. This gives his family great comfort, knowing that his adversity is gone and he is at peace with the Lord.
