Jerry's obituary

In Loving Memory of Jerry Fenton, 86, who passed away peacefully in Milwaukie, Ore. Born in Portland, he lived a full life grounded in love, service, and deep connections. He was a devoted husband to Peg for 37 wonderful years, sharing laughter, adventure, and everyday joy.

Jerry was the proud father of four daughters, Kim, Kasey, Kylee, and Kathy, through marriage. He was a loving grandfather to JJ, Anna, Nina, Omar, Aliya, and Aiden. He was a joyful great-grandfather to Avery and a father figure to many, including sons-in-law Brent, Kareem, Felton, and Chris.

His 32-year career as a high school educator and coach left a lasting impact. As a beloved biology teacher and wrestling coach, Jerry inspired generations with his humor and encouragement. He helped shape Oregon's wrestling community through initiatives and leadership, including founding the Old-Timers Tournament and earning the National Wrestling Hall of Fame's Lifetime Service Award in 2007.

Jerry loved nature, gardening, and wine, especially how it brought people together. Though he traveled far, his heart was always at home, surrounded by family and love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
