Jerry Brent Cordle, 54, of Newport News, Virginia, passed away on October 25, 2025. He was born on January 2, 1971, to the late Robert Cordle and Claudia Cooper. A 1989 graduate of Gloucester High School, Jerry worked for many heavy equipment contractors and was known as one of the best operators in the area. He helped construct the ponds at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton and the Jefferson Avenue exit of I-64, among many others. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Craig Cordle. He is survived by his ex-wife and mother of his children, Melinda Suzanne (Walker) Davis; children, Jesse (Larissa) Patton, Keely (Hunter) Griffin, Ashton Cordle, and Chris Cordle; grandchildren, Melody Patton and Adalyn Griffin; brother, Tommy (Connie) Osborne; nieces, Kayla Cordle and Isamarie Maldonado; stepmother, Lila Youkeles; cousin, Pam Kitchens; and many other family and friends.

Jerry will be remembered for his skill and hard work by those closest to him.
