Jerry was a wonderful guy and great storyteller.  I loved to hear his audio tape of Phil Rizzuto's call of his home run ..one of 4 in a row hit off Bullett Bob Turley during a Red Sox 5 game sweep of the Yankees.  I loved going to his restaurant with the late great Yankee Bobby Murcer and other Red Sox personnel ...his Italian food at Pino's was authentic and delicious.  And Marge , a gracious and dedicated woman, always made us feel welcome

So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I lived in the same barracks with him in Gelnhausen,Germany in 1957 and 1958. We got to be good friends and I watched him pitch for the Army team many times.  We had a  lot of fun, he was my pinochle partner.  I saw him pitch a 3-hit shut-out against my Cleveland Indians (1959) and the following night I met him in the visiting team locker room after game one of a doubleheader. I invited him to come to my home and meet my parents but the next game was rained out and the team had to leave early so we never got together. He was really a great guy. Everybody loved him. I got out in 1958 and he got discharged a few months later. I was a few years younger than him because I enlisted and he was drafted.  I wish I had known he had the restaurant because I was in Manhattan

One of the nicest men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. A true gentleman. I am sorry to have heard this so late.
Just thinking about Jerry tonight. As a San Francisco Seal, he hit the longest home run that I ever witnessed. RIP.

I met Jerry at a Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T,) Dinner in 2000 for the first time. I would always look for him at the dinner every year. I collect autographs and he gave me cards when he saw me.
When I found out he owned Pino's Restaurant on 34th Street, I would visit him. When the All-Star Game was at Yankee Stadium, Jerry had a dinner at the restaurant with some retired players. One of the players, Bobby Murcer, was supposed to attend and was sick.
I remembered an e-mail which Jerry sent with the names of the attendees. I received the e-mail on the Thursday prior to the dinner which said that Bobby was sick and might attend but he passed away the day before the Monday night dinner.
Jerry was a down-to-earth person who you can speak to about the Red Sox, of which I am a long-time fan. I also met him at a BLOHARDS Luncheon.
I am sorry to hear that he is gone!
I was an old friend and spent New Years Eve in his sister's home and became acquainted with real Italian food. His family was wonderful and we were served most of the day.

I loved seeing him at Pino's and hearing his home run, called by Phil Rizzuto, off fireballer Bullet Bob Turley, number 19 for the Yankees, whenever a new dinner guest arrived. And oh that Fenway mural! What a great story teller he was. Adored him. I will cherish our friendship. Jeffrey Lyons Mobbqbc@aol.com

Jerry was a great guy. Met him at the BAT dinners and at a BLOHARDS luncheon in NYC at the Yale Club. He cared about his family and spoke to baseball fans . Prayers for the Casale family.

Growing up my sister Lenore and I spent a lot of time and shared many happy memories with my “uncle” Jerry , “Aunt” Marge and “cousins “Jimmy, Dee Dee and Patty.
They would spend weekends with us in Oakdale and Uncle Jerry would make us all laugh- especially when he used to make fun of my mother’s cooking. He was kind, sweet , generous and absolutely hilarious!
