I will always remember Jerry's humor and discussions on any topic! Also his love and affection for you, Sharon, always a shining star that took great care of him throughout life with his family! Always know that I am here for you, even with the distance, so many special moments.

My heartfelt condolences to Sharon, Jerry's and Sharon's children Aaron, Marshall, Amy, and Megan and the whole big Shuster+ family and their friends!!! I fondly remember Jerry before and during his long illness, and it made me glad and calm to see that he received so much love and support from Sharon, and Amy and her family during their visits in Columbus. It was good to see that Jerry seemed happy or content most of the time. I am glad he taught us how to stick a spoon to our noses on one of his many visits to Ohio. - I first met Jerry in his Las Vegas home among his family, where we had dinner and watched Harry Potter. Then, he was still being flown out into the desert in secret missions to engineer stuff, while is peace-loving, but highly tolerant loving daughter Amy looked on;)! Jerry's humor and love lives on in Sharon and his children and family.

The kids and I flew out to stay with Jerry & Sharon. Jerry loaned me a car for the week and gave me lessons on the jacuzzi keypad - warning me that I needed to remember to turn it off when we were done. I also got Kurig coffee machine lessons and dishwasher loading directions. There were protocols for everything. With my ADHD, I pretty much failed in all areas. I forgot to turn off the jacuzzi (and left it on all night), I didn't throw away the used K-cup, I didn't line up the forks in the dishwasher (or wipe down the kitchen sink after each use), something else with using his computer/ printer, and to top it all off, I forgot to fill up the gas tank before our flight home (still feel so very guilty about that). And as many times that I had Jerry shaking his head and using his high voice questioning why I did it the way I had, forcing him to repeat instructions I didn't follow correctly, I knew Jerry loved me whole skiesful, that I was forgiven, that I was one of his daughters, and I was expected to come back soon.

Jerry was so FULL of LOVE. It burst from him. He gave it away in his silliness, in his singing, in his laughter, in his attention to details, in his thoughtful planning, in his generosity, in his warnings, in his warmth, and in every bear hug and big lipped smooch. I'm so grateful to have known him. To have felt like one of his daughters. To have watched him love on and play with my children. I know he wanted more time with you. More time to ride bikes, to garden, to travel. I love you. I'm really going to miss him.

I met Jerry in the late 1990’s through his good friend Ron Oseas. Even though I lived in Canada we formed a bond of friendship that didn’t fade with distance. We traveled to Las Vegas many times, met in Hawaii, Birch Bay, Lummi Island, our home in Vancouver and even tried to get Jerry to join us for a Baltic cruise – that did cause some mysterious phone calls asking who I was and why was I trying to get Jerry on this cruise that had one stop in Russia. Obviously, Jerry didn’t make the journey with us.
On one of our trips to Kauai we started to experiment with making our own Mai Tais – dark spiced rum, light run, triple sec, almond syrup and POG – that became our signature drink. However, each time there was less POG and more rum. I think we made three trips to the liquor store that week.
Jerry was a beautiful person; in his career he was brilliant and amazing but at the same time funny and compassionate. When he read you something and Jerry was interrupted, he would start over again, one day while in an airport waiting for our flight Jerry wanted to read something to us. We decide to see how many times we could interrupt him – well you know the outcome. We almost missed our flight.
There was a special to trip Zion Park that was hilarious beyond words – you had to be there, but I will leave that will another Mai Tai Day.
Over a length of a lifetime, there are a few people who will cross your path and leave an image. They surround you with optimism, love, empathy and true friendship. Jerry was one of those people.
You will be missed by all who crossed your path.

Jerry was always the fun loving communicator to discuss any topic with great interest and involvement. His humor and love for Sharon was ever present in any activity of life. Hold on to each memory and grow and learn from him still! Hugs and love to the family and friends!

What a beautiful recap of Jerry’s life. He was the sweetest, funniest, smartest, loyalest, lovingest person, and I miss him soooo much. I miss laughing with him til we cried. I miss his bear hugs. I miss the fun we had making up songs and singing Tom Lehrer songs together. I miss that he could and would explain how ANYTHING worked. I miss that he could repair a car with a bandaid and thought nothing of it, while we all just went “WOW”. We love him very much.
