Sunrise 6/15/1961--- Sunset 4/22/2024
Jerrold Jarosław "Jarek" Skakacz passed away suddenly on April 22, 2024 at Yale New Haven Hospital with his daughter by his side. Jerrold is predeceased by his father Marian Skakacz. He is survived by his mother Jolanta Skakacz of Poland, his son David Skakacz, his daughter Monica Skakacz, his only grandson Corneilius Williams Jr. all of West Haven, and all of his friends from all over the world.
Jerrold was born in Łęczyca, Łódź, Poland on June 15, 1961 to Marian and Jolanta Skakacz, their only child. After completing high school Jerrold fled communist Poland as a refugee, with $10 in his pocket, a pregnant wife, and not knowing whether he would be able to see his family in Poland again. With all odds stacked against him. He was able to create a very comfortable life for himself and his family. Two weeks prior to his death Jerrold filed for early retirement. He planned to move back to Poland in June 2024 to be closer to his mother. He loved living in Connecticut but nothing meant more to him then to be back in Poland with his mother. Jerrold was a great man who was altruistic even till his last breath. He donated his kidneys and liver in order to help someone get a second chance at life. He loved going to the beach and watching the waves crash the shore. He was the type of person that always loved taking the scenic route anywhere, it didn't matter how much longer the ride took.
A memorial/wake service will be held on Sunday May 5th, 2024 at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street Milford, CT (located on the Milford green) calling hours 2pm-6pm.
In lieu of flowers and cards the family is asking for donations towards Jerrold's final expenses. Gofundme page- In Loving Memory of Jerrold "Jarek" Skakacz
