Jerry's obituary
Jerome "Jerry" West, 86, of Brentwood, CA, passed away on June 12, 2024 at home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a brief battle with [atrial fibrillation and heart failure].
Jerry was born on May 28, 1938, in [Chelyan, West Virginia] to [Cecil Sue and Howard Stewart]; Jerry was their fifth child who paved the way for the rest of the [West] family. As a child, Jerry's favorite interests were [interests]. His interest in sports would only grow as he got older and was encouraged to try mout many more activities and sports.
After graduating from high school, Jerry attended [West Virginia University] with a full ride scholarship, contingent on his success as a [basketball] player. He excelled both academically and physically during his time at university, ending with a 4.0 and a contract with the [Los Angeles Lakers]. Jerry would go on to spend the next 15 years heavily dedicated to perfecting his body, his team, and his craft. He won [1] championships, held over [number] titles and was named [an All-Star] over [14] times during his career.
After retiring, Jerry decided it was time for someone else to take the spotlight He continued to contribute to the field of [basketball] by offering his services as a coach and mentor to aspiring athletes. With Coach [West]'s expertise, fans were able to secure victory on the field.
