Jerome's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerome Herring, a beloved husband, father, brother, and community member. Jerome was born on February 2, 1953, and passed away on May 30, 2023. He is survived by his loving spouse, Lori Herring, their children D.J. Herring Jr., Jerrold Herring, Zabian Herring, Michelle Argudo, Kara Cosme, and Keeley Chrisman, as well as his four brothers, three sisters, and many other family members and friends.

Jerome was an attendee at Trinity Fellowship Church and a devoted volunteer with Blood N Fire Ministry of Atlanta.Jerome's passion for serving others was apparent in all aspects of his life. His selfless service and contributions to his community were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Jerome's vibrant personality and love for life were reflected in how he lived his life. His favorite foods included Longhorn’s Wild West Shrimp, & Chicken Fried Steak, along with homemade Pork Chops with Rice & Gravy. He also enjoyed sipping on Long Island Iced Tea while listening to 70's & 80's Rhythm & Blues music. He was an avid viewer of NCIS, FBI New York, FBI International, and FBI Most Wanted, and loved watching comedies on the big screen. He supported the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs, always cheering them on with great enthusiasm.

Jerome's favorite vacation spots revolved around the simple joy of spending quality time with family and friends, often sharing laughter through his banter and smart remarks. He was passionate, deeply committed to caring for the homeless, particularly women and children. His favorite color was purple, reflecting his vibrant and multi-faceted personality. Jerome was described by those who knew him as fun-loving, hilarious, caring, giving, kind-hearted, generous, selfless, devoted, faithful, and genuine. Jerome's life lessons revolved around respect for others, treating everyone with kindness, compassion, and understanding. He believed in seeking God and serving others, understanding that life is larger than oneself.

Jerome's powerful legacy of kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. His acts of charity and compassion impacted not only his community but also inspired others to follow in his footsteps. His love and care for those he served exemplify his servant's heart. Jerome’s example of putting values into action, demonstrating patience and tolerance in challenging situations, will continue to serve as a powerful lesson for all who knew him. His unwavering faith in God and devotion to his family and community will forever be remembered. Thank You Jerome for a life well loved and lived.
