Jeremy Christopher Gabriel Sewell was born to Carolyn Gabriel and Ralph Sewell on August 19, 1979 at Lucinia Birth Center in Cottage Grove, Oregon.  His brother and five sisters were among the sizable group present that welcomed Jeremy into the world.

On January 21, 2022, at the age of 42, Jeremy journeyed beyond this life.  He is survived by his high school love and wife of 16 years, Angela (Broom) Sewell (Their relationship spanning 24 years), his daughter Emalyn, and son Mason.  He felt such pride in being their dad.

Survivors also include his mother, Carolyn, brother Kenny (Kody), six sisters, Betsy (Steve), Michele (Gary), Paula (Carl), Catherine (Don- RIP), Carolyn (Daemon), Sarah, and a large host of nephews and nieces, many with whom he grew up more like a brother.  He is loved and missed by many relatives and friends.  Jeremy is preceded in death by his father Ralph. 

Most of Jeremy's growing up was done along the McKenzie River, although there were short durations of living in California and Colorado when very young.  He graduated from McKenzie High School in 1997 and earned his Associate of General Studies degree from Lane Community College in 2002.  Over the years, he had worked for McKenzie River Ranger District, Knight Construction, Garth Hamlow Construction, EWEB, and ODOT.

Travel was something that started early in Jeremy's life.  It included a road trip to Maine and back, trips to Montana, Alaska and Hawaii.  His first trip abroad was as a teen with his mom to Russia.  That was followed by school trips to England, Scotland, and Germany.

Jeremy's passion was the outdoors.  He was a successful steelhead and salmon fisherman, often offering his catch to family and neighbors.  He was an expert and ethical bow hunter, and loved hunting for sheds, of which he had amassed a grand collection.  He had the ability to recall the location where most were found and often had an accompanying story.  He was an excellent navigator of rivers in both drift boat and raft.  Running the McKenzie, Deschutes, and Umpqua was a favorite thing that he and his family did together.  Jeremy also loved to watch sports... always a fan of the Ducks and 49ers.

Jeremy was adventurous, funny, dedicated and best remembered for his compassion, deep love of family, his genuine warmth and all enveloping hugs.  His hugs can still be felt.

Jeremy is now held in the arms of the angels, yet remains with all of us forever.

A celebration of life will be held at the EWEB Water Board Park in Leaburg, site #4 on Saturday, April 16th from 1-5pm.
