Jeramie's obituary
A kind spirit was born on September 10, 1979, in Detroit, MI to Mattie Pearl Austin. Jeramie was Matties’s only child and she always called him her “brown eyed” boy. He departed this life on Friday, October 20, 2023.
Jeramie professed his faith in Jesus Christ at an early age at Shady Grove M.B. Church in Senatobia, MS, where he remained a member. Jeramie attended Senatobia High School where he played the position of running back on the football team for several years. He graduated from Senatobia High School in May of 1999. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps August of 1999 and served his country until August of 2003. He served honorably in the Marines, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. After his military service Jeramie began a career as a CDL driver which he loved and enjoyed throughout his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Mattie Pearl Austin, who he lovingly called Pearl, four uncles, Louis Austin (Earlene), Douglas Austin (Arlita), Ricky Austin (Linda), Patrick Austin (Meredith) who were father figures and role models, three aunts Margaret Austin, Ruthie Tate (Ashley), and Doris Swauncy (Wayne) who he adored. Three special cousins Charlotte Vanessa Jones, Carla Tate (Carl), Mechard Austin, a special child in his life Eli Newson, and a host of beloved cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Charlie Mack Austin, his grandmother Mattie Lee Austin, and two uncles James Austin and Charles Austin. Jeramie was a fun loving, kind, and gentle spirit who had a beautiful smile. Jeramie cared deeply for the people around him and made an impact on many lives. He will be forever missed.
