Jennifer Staples Sylvia, formerly of Salem, NH and Northboro, MA, passed away on May 1, 2021 at her lake house in Lebanon, Maine after a 9 year battle with Ovarian Cancer. Jennifer is the daughter of the late Frederick T. Staples and Gloria (DiTullio) Staples, both formerly of Salem, NH and Northboro, MA. She is survived by her husband of 24 years Mark Sylvia of Chelmsford, MA and Lebanon, ME, her brother Fred Staples and his wife Kate ( Winthrop ME), sister Claudia Schena and her husband Michael (Naples, FL and Naples, ME), her uncle David DiTullio, aunts Margie DiTullio, Kathleen DiTullio, and Marion Staples, nephews Mike and Greg Schena and their wives Sarah and Elizabeth, her life-long friend Rhonda (Wolf) St.Laurent, and many other devoted friends.
Jennifer graduated from Salem High School in 1971 and went on to pursue an education and career in computer software engineering.
Jennifer is remembered by most for her brilliant mind, artistic talent, and natural beauty.
She retired from her position at Verizon as a software engineer, but remained active pursuing her many interests. Jennifer enjoyed reading scientific journals, kayaking, gardening, making ice cream and pizzelles, and most recently, caring for her 8 chickens.
Although Jennifer faced many hardships throughout her last 10+ years, she remained steadfast and positive right to the end. She will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
