Jennifer's obituary
Jennifer Pinkham, 61, of La Cañada Flintridge, CA, passed away on December 25, 2024 after a difficult battle with lymphoblastic lymphoma.
Jennifer was born to Philip and Ethel Bramson on May 21st, 1963 in Richland, Washington. The second of three children. The family moved to Benton City in 1966 where she graduated from Kiona-Benton Elementary, Middle and High School. There she played tennis, was a homecoming princess, and met her future husband Christopher. As a young girl, she loved to take in and care for kittens she found on the farm, play piano, and sewing. She would often sew the clothes she put on her dolls.
After high school, Jennifer attended Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho before attending Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington and Brooks College in Long Beach, California.
Jennifer married Arsen Mkrtchyan in 1991 and they made their first home together in Glendale, California. Her first child, Jessica, was born in 1993, followed by Andrew in 1995, and Megan in 2003. During this time, she was working as a manager at a fabric store in Glendale called the House of Fabrics. She also became a member of Montrose Church and volunteered there as the Children’s Director.
After her divorce in 2008, Jennifer re-connected with her high school friend, Christopher, who lived in San Francisco at the time. After a seven year courtship, they were married in Ben Lomand, outside of Santa Cruz in 2015 and resided in both La Cañada and San Francisco.
Jennifer’s passion has always been fashion design, fabric, and sewing. While she was the Children’s Director at Montrose Church, she often made the costumes for the kid's Christmas programs. As her children grew throughout the years, she loved making their Halloween costumes. In 2017, Jennifer opened her own business, a clothing boutique and studio, called First Comes Love Atelier. "The Shop", as she would always refer to it, was a place she could channel her abounding creativity and natural eye for design into beautifully unique garments, wedding gowns, and mother-of-the-bride dresses. She would also complete difficult alterations for her friends, family, and women of the Montrose, La Cañada, and Glendale communities. First Comes Love Atelier was always her dream and she got to fulfill that dream.
In December of 2020, Jennifer was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and then later diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma in April of 2022 which required her to receive a life-saving bone marrow transplant in January 2023. The transplant was successful but about 8 months after, she developed a rare complication called chronic graft vs. host disease of the lungs. She passed away from those complications on Christmas day 2024, surrounded by her pastor, children, and husband.
Jennifer was a strong, creative woman whose outward beauty matched her beautiful soul. She was incredibly supportive and generous to all those lucky enough to have crossed her path. This was especially true when it came to her husband, her children, and her church. An engaging woman with a beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and remarkable intellect, Jennifer will be remembered and missed by all those blessed to have known her.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Philip Bramson and her loving dog Harley. She is survived by her mother Ethel Bramson, brothers Jeff (Trisha) Bramson, James (Debbie) Bramson, mother in law Sue Pinkham, brother in law Clay (Christie) Pinkham, adoring husband Christoper and incredible children, Jessica (John), Andrew (Cassidy), and Megan as well as, many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and amazing supportive friends.
