Jennifer's obituary

Jennifer "Deeda" Lynn Mason, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Castle Rock, CO, on February 13, 2021. She was 50 years old. Jennifer is survived by her mother, Nancy Mason, of Sherwood, OR, and her sister, Rebecca Mason, of Long Beach, CA. Jennifer also leaves behind her beloved niece, Ever Mason Sapienza, and her nephew, Pierce Mason Lavallee, as well as her sweet dog, Ricco, and a very, very, large group of loving and dear friends and family. She was predeceased by her father, Dennis Mason, less than two years ago.
Jennifer was a one of a kind, huge personality. She was funny, friendly, compassionate, irreverent, and a really really nice person...to everyone....all the time. She wasn't particularly fond of anything too serious, instead preferring to play pranks, tell jokes, assign nicknames, and make other people laugh. If life was The Love Boat, then Jen was the ultimate Julie Mc Coy. She was relatable, loyal, and incredibly generous...an all around Hype Girl to everyone. Jen was passionate about the 80's, musical theater, Bradley Cooper, Hawaiian plumerias, dance parties, and the song, "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger.

We do not know the details surrounding her passing, but choose to focus on a life well-lived, albeit far too short. Jen always wanted to be cremated with her ashes spread atop Mt Hood in Oregon, on the water at Lake Almanor, and on the shores of Hawaii. These are all places she loved as a child, and continued to visit as an adult. Her wishes are a true testament to her love for the outdoors, nature, and fond memories of happy times with friends and loved ones. Jen opted to be an organ donor, and we are proud to share that two people in Colorado are now able to experience the joy of healthy eyesight thanks to Jennifer's generous gift.
Jennifer adored her tribe, and she had a story to tell about each and every one of you. We hope to use this space for good Jen-storytelling, laughs, reconnections, pictures, and memories, so please share yours with us. It should be no surprise to anyone that Jennifer had great appreciation for pushing the envelope when it came to her sense of humor, so we imagine this is a safer platform than Facebook!
Thank you for being a part of our lives, and for continuing to keep the beautiful spirit of Jen alive. She would want us to laugh and smile, and tell inappropriate jokes.
She would want us to live life to the fullest.
She would want us to "go big, or go home"...
xoxoxo
