Jennifer's obituary
Jennifer Lynn Cook (Young), born September 1, 1986, in Wylie, Texas, was lovingly adopted by Gary and Lisa Young . She spent most of her childhood in Wylie and Allen, Texas, and graduated from Allen High School, where she was an active member of the band as a talented flute player.
As a child and later as a young woman, Jennifer adored Tweety Bird, her family dogs, playing piano and flute, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her infectious laugh and radiant smile, which could brighten even the darkest day.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Jason Cook, with whom she shared 12 years of marriage; her two cherished children, Lena and Dylan Cook; mother Lisa Young, her nephew Aiden, her grandparents, Joann and Jerry Huff, and her in-laws, Bob and Linda Cook.
After high school, Jennifer pursued her passion for working with children, earning an associate degree in Child Development from Collin College. She went on to serve as a preschool teacher in church programs and at the Weekday Program at First United Methodist Church of Plano. Beloved by students, parents, and colleagues, Jennifer was admired for her warmth, patience, and the deep care she gave to every child in her classroom.
Above all, Jennifer was a devoted wife and a deeply supportive, loving mother. Even in her final months, she remained determined to keep life positive for those she loved most, creating lasting memories with Jason, Lena, and Dylan.
Jennifer loved to celebrate life’s special moments. She especially enjoyed the Fourth of July, always returning to her favorite spot in Allen, and she took great joy in transforming her home each Christmas with countless decorations. One of her last gifts was the chance to enjoy one more Fourth of July surrounded by her loved ones before her passing in August.
Jennifer lived her life courageously and with an unwavering belief in the goodness of others. She will be remembered for the joy and light she brought into countless lives, and for the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her greatest wish would be for everyone to continue living fully, cherishing each moment, and creating memories with the people they love.
Jennifer will forever remain in our hearts and minds.
