Jennifer's obituary
Jennifer Gale (Herpok) Brawner, 54, wife of Michael Brawner of Cleveland, SC gained her angel wings on July 19, 2024. Her life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her know her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts far exceeds the quantity of time she stayed here. She was born in Camp Zama, Sagamihara, Japan on August 13, 1969. Jennifer graduated from Cherry Hill East High School and University of Toledo. She was an avid worker in several sales positions and real estate with Century 21 of California and Thomas Realty of South Carolina. Her true passion was gymnastics and fitness and her love for them carried through her life. She competed Miss Fitness and was currently judging for USA Gymnastics before her passing. Jennifer was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R)
Mike and Jennifer moved to their forever home in Cleveland, SC in 2015 after meeting and residing in Ocean Beach, CA where they raised her two beloved step children, Chelsey and Trenton. She was fun-loving, out-going and could light up a room as soon as she entered it which makes sense why her favorite flower was a sunflower. She found joy in the little things and never knew a stranger. She had a way of making you feel important, even with people she just met. Her smile was infectious and always present. When she wasn’t working or judging she could be found home tending to her dogs Sadie and Dutch, and her kitty Nala that she loved dearly. Not a day went by where Jennifer didn’t talk about how much her husband and family meant to her. Her family was everything. She frequently reached out to her family and friends during the day. Her new granddaughter, Ella (8 months) was one of the lights of her life.
Jennifer is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 25 years, Michael Brawner, her step children, Chelsey McGoldrick (Peter), Granddaughter Ella McGoldrick, Trenton Brawner, her parents, Franz and Mary Herpok, siblings Geoff Herpok (Stacy), Lara Baumann (Mitch), nieces Leah and Mae Baumann. Jennifer was preceded by her Grandparents Lyman and Barbara Shields and Frank and Nellie Herpok . An intimate celebration of life will take place on Jennifer’s birthday, August 13th. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Wildlife Rehabilitation of South Carolina in Jennifer’s name.
