Jenelle's obituary
With infinite love and great sorrow, we announce that Jenelle Angela DeMartino- Sullivan, 53, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away unexpectedly, on January 5th, 2022.
Jenelle was born on August 21st, 1968 to Joseph and Linda (Messina) DeMartino in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Her loving parents became Founder and CEO of their family owned business, Economy Transmissions, Inc. on Gandy Blvd in Tampa.
While spending time at the shop, Jenelle would visit her kindergarten classmate, Patrizia Friscioni (Lemmerman), that lived right around the corner. Jenelle quickly became part of the family and vice-versa... this would spark a remarkable life-long best friendship that carried on through their school years and beyond.
After graduating from Robinson High School (Tampa, Florida) in 1986, Jenelle became a licensed hairstylist and went on to earn her college degree, while simultaneously working at Florida Highway Patrol and Continental Airlines. She remained loyal to her career at the law enforcement agency and relentlessly worked in various departments in the state for over 23 years.
Jenelle met Richard Sullivan, and they were married in 1993, at Saint Patrick's Church in Tampa. They went on to have two beautiful children, Devin Blake Sullivan and Vincent Joseph Sullivan, that were her world.
When Jenelle had Devin and Vincent, she dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Jenelle excelled at propping up her family, friends and co-workers, supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.
She made it her mission to improve the lives of others and was very involved in making strides for cancer research and donated much of her time to Relay for Life and The American Cancer Society.
Jenelle was passionate about crafting and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found sharing recipes and laughs with her closest friends.
Jenelle was a bright star in this often difficult world and will be missed by so many friends and family members. We are completely unprepared for this unexpected loss and already miss her greatly.
Jenelle was predeceased by her father, Joseph DeMartino, who she loved and missed very much and her sweetest dog Scooby.
She is survived by her treasured family: (mother), Linda DeMartino, (husband) Richard Sullivan, and (her children), Devin and Vinny Sullivan.
A celebration of life for our beloved Jenelle DeMartino will be held on Saturday, January 22nd from 11 am to 1 pm at Brewer and Sons Funeral Home 3328 S. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa 33629.
Following the services, a reception will be held immediately after at: The American Legion (Post 5) located at 3810 West Kennedy Blvd (Corner of Dale Mabry and Kennedy) in Tampa 33609.
Always Loved... Never Forgotten... Forever Missed!
