Jeff's obituary
It is with immense sorrow we announce the passing of Jeffrey “Jeff” Van Haveren on October 10th, 2025. Jeff was born on July 23, 1956 in Milwaukee , Wi. He spent a lifetime of nearly seven decades spreading love, warmth, creativity, and a contagious passion for life.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Denise Van Haveren whom was his high school sweetheart. Their time together was spent raising their two children, traveling nationwide including several trips to Hawaii where Jeff enjoyed hiking the Napali coast , snorkeling and all of the amazing beaches. They also built unique flower markets in the Twin Cities area. Jeff aka the “Birdman” was a talented and amazing floral designer- and always was the first to set the trends. Along with his wife Denise, he is predeceased by his sisters Amy & Kelly.
Jeff was always an Inspiration and joy for his family. He is survived by his devoted children, Brad and Jenna Van Haveren, his loving daughter-in-law, Annie Van Haveren, and his cherished grandchildren, Brendan and Alana Van Haveren, and Cole and Kaely Saporito. He also leaves behind Taylor Ratcliff, who was always close to his heart and considered a second daughter. His mother, Gail Greene, survives him with years of treasured memories and brother Joe Musil.
Jeff also leaves behind his beloved partner Shelley Hume (J.P., Jack, and Sean) and family. Through it all, his loyal dog and best friend, Teddy, was a constant presence - offering companionship, unconditional love, and comfort when it was needed most.
Though Jeff traveled far and wide, it was in Nixa, Missouri that he found his true home. He embraced the community and the peace it offered, and it was there that his heart felt most at ease. He and his partner Shelley bought a flower shop in the Ozark’s which became Jeff’s second home. Customers loved coming by for fresh flowers, unique plants and simply just to chat with Jeff- he was gifted with words and very knowledgeable of plants.
Jeff had an adventurous spirit, always ready to embark on a journey, be it in his beloved garden or on an unplanned trip. His love for music, photography, and the great outdoors was only surpassed by his absolute dedication to embracing every moment of life's journey. His unparalleled zest for life left an incredible impact on everyone he crossed paths with.
As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived. A life filled with love, laughter, innovative thinking and an everlasting legacy of embracing the moment. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
