Jeff's obituary
Jeffrey Scott Prine, 63 of Madison, WI died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded with lots of love from his family and friends.
Jeff was born on December 9, 1961 to Nancy (Stopper) Prine and Eugene Prine in Madison, WI. He graduated from Madison West High. Over his life, Jeff has worked many different jobs but most recently he worked for Renaissance Senior Living. He loved being with all the residents there.
Jeff was a quiet, caring, loyal, sentimental and generous man. He had a kind and gentle spirit. Jeff took great pride and joy in his family. He was very goofy and had a crazy imagination and loved to make up a ridiculous story to make us all laugh. Jeff had a special place in his heart for Door County. He took every chance he could to go up and spend a long weekend at his parent's house. Jeff enjoyed cheering on all Wisconsin sports, puttering in the yard, working on a project and enjoying family and friends.
Jeff will be missed terribly by his partner of 20 years, Nina Goldberger, his kids-Kelly Kahl (Dustin), Laura Prine (Joe Bryant), Amy Prine (Mike Key) and Jake Prine (Ani Stordahl). His brothers, Dan Prine (Laura Harrington), Andrew Prine, Matt Herndon-Prine (Rachael), his mother, Nancy Prine, his step mom Gail McCallum Prine and his brother in law Nick Goldberger (Carol). He was “Diddy” to his 6 beautiful grandkids, Skylar, Parker, Mason, Emmett, Henry and Sydney as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also missed by his furry family- Oscar, Oliver, Graycie, Gus, Lucy, Bowie, Poppy, Duke and last but not least Bear.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Prine, his sisters Jenny Bullington and Sarah Prine Black and his grandson, Tommy Bryant.
The secret to life is not about knowing what to say or do. It’s not about doing love and loss right. The secret is simply to show up. This is how Jeff lived. He will be missed.
