Jeffrey's obituary

Jeffrey John Overstreet was born at the Presbyterian Community Hospital in Birchwood Alaska to Linda Ray Bergman and John Edwin Overstreet on January 20, 1965 and passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2025 at home.

Jeff graduated from Wasilla High School in 1983, attended Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University, where he was reunited with gradeschool/highschool friend Michelle Carney (Overstreet). They were married in March of 1993, she was the love of his life. After 13 years of marriage, Jeff and Michelle welcomed a daughter, Elliana. Her name means God has answered and she was the joy of his life.

Jeff and Michelle lived in Anchorage, Wasilla, Arizona, and returned to the Mat Su Valley in 2009. Jeff had various sales jobs, including selling Mastercraft boats which he greatly enjoyed. But his calling was to be an Edward Jones Financial advisor, a career he wished he had found earlier in life and took great pride in. He was also President of the Wasilla Noon Rotary and strongly believed in the “Service above Self” motto. He was so grateful for the friends and mentorship in these groups.

Jeff enjoyed adventure, including commercial fishing off Kodiak Island, crewing a sailboat off the Southern Coast of the US and he drove the Alaska Highway a dozen times, the last road trip was with Elliana, to the University of Idaho. He enjoyed ultra -mountain bike racing and biking in general, logging tens of thousands of miles a year and placing in several races in Alaska and Arizona. He loved his friends-old and new, hot-rodding, car shows, fishing, Diamondbacks baseball and Suns basketball. He considered himself the “ambassador of fun” for his family. Jeff loved life!

Jeff is survived by his wife Michelle Overstreet, daughter Elliana Overstreet, Mother Linda Bergman, Sisters Lori Kirk and Brenda Hall, and extensive family.
