In Loving Memory of Jeffrey C. Lopez
Jeffrey C. Lopez, age 31, passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Gouverneur Hospital due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in the town of Macomb, upstate New York.
Jeffrey was born on April 19, 1994, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Yoselyn Vasquez Jimenez and Ceferino Lopez. He was the second of five children and a cherished member of a close-knit and loving family. He attended P.S. 282 Elementary School and graduated from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, New York. Recently, he proudly earned his Associate of Arts in General Studies from Central Texas College.
A Proud Soldier and Honorable Leader
At the time of his passing, Jeffrey was serving on active duty in the United States Army with the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSG), stationed at Fort Drum, New York. Throughout his distinguished military career, he served in various locations, including Germany, Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington State, and during a tour in the Philippines.
SSG Lopez was known for his leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers, whom he mentored and supported with compassion and strength. In recognition of his service, Jeffrey was awarded several military honors and medals for his exemplary performance, leadership, and contributions to the mission of the U.S. Army.
A Life of Love, Laughter, and Generosity
Jeffrey lived life with warmth, passion, and heart. He loved music, fashion, laughter, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted son, father, brother, and friend—always ready to lend a helping hand, share a smile, and bring light to those around him. His presence brought joy and comfort to everyone who knew him.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving parents, Yoselyn Vasquez Jimenez and Ceferino Lopez; his beloved children, Ariya Lopez and Elijah Lopez; his siblings, Jonathan Lopez, Bryan Lopez, Steven Lopez, and Sophia Lopez; his grandparents, Milagros Jimenez, Florencio Vasquez, Maria Lopez, Dagoberto Rivas, his beloved, Sandra Rodriguez; his honorary brothers, Brian Rodriguez (Specc); Maurice, Akim, and a host of caring aunts, uncles, cousins, and bestfriends/friends.
Jeffrey’s spirit, service, and love will be remembered always. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
