Jeffrey Dean Hethcoat, 38, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2026, in Hawaii. He was born on July 29, 1987, in Hartford, Connecticut, to Jeff Hethcoat Sr. and Lori McNeal.

Jeffrey was a vibrant, magnetic soul whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Full of life, love, and passion, he had a rare gift for making people feel seen, special, and deeply cared for. Whether you knew him for years or only shared a brief moment with him, Jeffrey had a way of lifting others up with his kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit.

He loved to dance, cherished animals, and moved through life with an open heart and adventurous soul. He was also a gifted musician, and his creativity and passion were woven into the way he lived. He loved The Beatles and was a devoted UConn Huskies fan, attending many games as a child with family.

Jeffrey leaves behind his partner, Preston Kozikowski; his mother, Lori McNeal; his father, Jeff Hethcoat Sr.; his brother, Andrew McNeal; his sister, Melissa Hethcoat; his nephews, Drew McNeal Jr. and Kenny Barteau III; his great-nieces, Scarlett McNeal and Violet Rose McNeal; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Hethcoat.

Jeffrey will be remembered for his huge heart, his beautiful energy, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched through his compassion, music, laughter, and light.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Jeffrey on April 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Joanna’s in Somers, Connecticut.

To honor Jeffrey and the joyful spirit he carried, guests are kindly asked to avoid wearing black. Bright, happy colors are encouraged, as they better reflect the light and love he brought into the world.
