We miss you Jeff!! I love reading about everyones connection and experiences we had with this wonderful spirit. These is such a similar thread though them all. I met Jeff in Hawaii in the early 70's . We were house sitting a wonderful place on Paola st on Oahu with a few others and Jeffs room was next to mine. I got to know him his best friend Derrick . These two were quite a pair in my mind and seemed to know a lot about everything from music, surfing, hiking, philosophy, the island, and were full of adventure. I would get up several mornings before sunset( ouch) and go with Jeff in his van looking for some surf spots. I didn't know much about surfing , but Jeff changed all that. He took me out to some breaks that were so far out I would have to hang onto his ankle because I couldn't paddle any more. He taught me the backward takeoff for body surfing. I always felt safe and relaxed when I was with Jeff. Just really into the moment. Hiking was even more crazy since we would run along the ridges on top of Aina Hina. They were fun and adventurous times. Jeff was still living on Paola st when my sister got married, and was a big help at the wedding . We all parted ways soon after and Jeff moved to Kaui. I always felt close with Jeff and he would always send me great pictures of his hiking adventures later on in life. I was blessed to meet such a great man, spirt, and soul. Aloha Jeff. On to the next adventure and may our paths cross again.
