I love these words which accompanied Jeffrey's imagery of his wedding to Hezar: "a celebration of love, joy, compassion and freedom. We love you all so much and send out this with abundant gratitude." To me, the last two words so clearly embody Jeffrey's warm and generous approach to life. Yes— abundant gratitude.

I’m not quite sure where to start. Jeffrey had made a great impression in my life. In the late 80s I remember Jack and I flying over to Kauai from Maui many weekends. We would stay with Jeff, Chucky boy and Bam. We’d dance, we’d hike, we laugh and connect. Jeff would fly over to Maui and stay at my Beachhouse while he went to different wine symposiums. 😁 Then in 1991 I believe, we became roommates when Bam moved out to start another adventure in his life. It was a perfect roommate situation. Jeff and Chucky boy work nights and I work days. We all had Monday off. We would have Monday night dinners together. Chuckie and I would cook and Jeff would bring the wine. Many great conversations took place at those dinners.
I had the honor of getting to know Nicholas on the weekends. I would get to tag a long while Jeffrey took them to the blue pools or the beach or some adventure during the day. I remember Nicholas love Mario Brothers then.
After hurricane Iniki I eventually went back to Maui.
Many years I kayaked or hiked into Kalalau with Jeffrey and Jack. Many spiritual and mental life experiences. Jeff always had me trying new things. From sound beds to vortex water. You name it.
Jeffrey and Jack both touched my son Alek’s life in many ways. I remember when my son turned 13 years old they took him out into the forest on a hike to do a ceremony on turning 13 and moving into a new stage of his life. They were there for him when I took him to his first Kayak trip into Kalalau.
Jeffrey was babysitting my son when he was a year old while I was working on island. They were hanging at Poipu Beach. Jeff said he sat back watching my son playing in the sand as a Hawaiian monk seal came up on the beach and hung out with my son for like 30 minutes. He allowed my son to have this experience as he watched from a distance. As people started coming up the monk seal returned to the waters glancing back at both of them.
Jeffrey was always there for friends with a big open heart and total understanding of the moment. When Jack got sick I called Jeffrey to let him know. He did not question me and came on a plane immediately. He stayed that month and helped his dear friend transition and help me stay connected. Soon His beloved wife joined us with her incredible open heart.
I could go on and on, But I will come to a closing. You will be missed my dear friend. Our friendship was and is not like any other friendship I’ve ever had. We have been connected over many lifetimes. Until we meet again. I love you
