Background
Jeff passed away unexpectedly, and we hope our friends and community, far and wide, will help to cover the costs for services so that his family can grieve in peace. The last thing Jeff's family should have to worry about is the cost of a funeral in this cruel system that takes so much from our wellbeing and ability to thrive. The money from the fundraiser will help cover the funeral costs as well as other unexpected costs related to sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one.
Jeff is remembered by his loving fiancé, Brooke, three beloved children, Addison, Erik, and Noah; and his parents, grandparents, brothers, uncles, aunts, and cousins. All who knew Jeff remember how much he brought to the world: fierce bravery, deep kindness and empathy, good listening, humor, humility, resilience, self-sacrifice, and an inspiring devotion to his fiancé, daughter, and family.
Jeff was an avid reader and seeker of knowledge, always inspiring others to keep learning. He saw the world with clear eyes and chose to fight to make it a better place. One comrade wrote this about Jeff: “Let us not forget or take for granted that many of us who seek the fight for liberation do so because we have felt the crushing weight of despair, of which we feel no agency in isolation. In our search for answers we arrive at one unanimous explanation, an economic and social order that incentivizes oppression in every facet of our existence. This pain is why we fight, it’s why we sacrifice, because we want better for all people. I think this is too important to not say: I want to highlight the magnitude and meaning of your contribution to a better world. We will carry you with us as we continue to struggle for freedom.” Another shared this thought, “Be like Jeff!” He was a true role model for so many, and his loss is immeasurable.
Jeff’s discipline, spirit, and kindness inspired so many of us to give more of ourselves to the fight for justice and for a better world. He touched many of us deeply, was dearly loved, and will be sorely missed. Please help us ease his family’s financial burden at this difficult time. Contribute
