Jeffrey Alan Bonnar

December 13, 1954 – February 2, 2025

Jeffrey Alan Bonnar, 70, of Chandler, AZ, passed away suddenly on February 2, 2025. He was born on December 13, 1954, in Chicago, IL to Alex and Minnie (Helenga) Bonnar.  Jeff grew up on a farm in Plainfield, IL, and graduated from Plainfield High School, class of 1973.  

Jeff was a devoted father to his two daughters, whom he raised in Minooka, IL with unwavering love and pride.  As an active member of the local United Methodist Church, his kindness and generosity touched many lives. His commitment to his community extended through his involvement in various civic organizations, always striving to make a difference.

One of the highlights of Jeff’s life was the time he spent working with his father at Railoc Company in Plainfield. For the majority of his career, Jeff worked at Caterpillar in Aurora and Joliet, where he was committed to operational excellence. While at Caterpillar, he received his bachelor’s degree with honors from Aurora University. Serving on the Board of Directors for the Joliet Area Community Hospice and as a Team Leader for the Appalachian Service Project, he found joy in offering aid and supporting those in need.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jeff was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and loved cheering on his favorite teams. He also had a deep love for travel, finding joy in exploring new places.  Through life's adventures, his beloved dog, Daisy, was a constant and cherished companion.        

Jeff’s legacy is one of dedication and generosity. His family meant the world to him. His impact on his family, friends, and community will be remembered and celebrated for years to come.

Jeff is survived by his two daughters Sara (Vasily Kolesnikov) Bonnar and Amy (Shaun Willits) Bonnar, brother Jon (Barb) Bonnar, sister Barbara (Bonnar) Schumann, brother-in-law Mike Lollar, and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members.  

Jeff was predeceased in death by his beloved parents Alexander Bonnar and  Minnie (Helenga) Bonnar as well as his brother, James Bonnar, and sister Sue (Bonnar) Lollar.
