Jeff's obituary
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffery "Jeff" Westfield, a man of extraordinary warmth, wit, and generosity, on April 18, 2026. Born on Christmas Day, 1958, Jeffery lived his life as a continuous celebration of humanity's capacity for kindness.
Jeffery, affectionately known to many as Jeff, though he preferred Jeffery, was a man of great vivacity. With a personality as bubbly as champagne and a heart as warm as a fireplace on a cold winter night, he enlivened every room he entered. His wit was unparalleled, often kindling laughter even in moments of profound sorrow. Jeffery was a master of balance, knowing when to be serious and when to lighten the atmosphere with a joke or a smile.
He was a profound believer in the golden rule, 'Do unto others as you'd have done upon you.' Jeffery not only preached this principle but lived it in every aspect of his life. His legacy of kindness and generosity will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In pursuit of happiness, Jeffery found joy in singing and dancing. His love for these art forms was contagious, often encouraging others to join in his performances, filling any space with merriment and camaraderie.
Jeffery is survived by his daughters, Jovonne Elzy and Tajihma Simon; son, Taiwan Elzy; ex-wife, Joyce Elzy; sisters, Pamela, Bonita, Yvonne, Janice, and Thetius Westfield; brother, James Westfield Jr., and granddaughters, Cherish and Carma McNeil, Bailiegh Simon, Taiyana Baker, and Taimirror Elzy. He also leaves behind a grandson, Theo Simon. He is predeceased by his parents, Helen and James Westfield Sr.
While it is heartbreaking to bid farewell to a man as wonderful as Jeffery, we find solace in the beautiful memories he leaves behind. In life and in death, his spirit, his teachings, and his love will continue to inspire and guide us all.
