We go soooo far back! Believe we first met playing baseball the year Plain became Richland in the summer of 1974. Then, he would come over to my neighbor Tombo Callahan's house as they were on the same team and we would all play together. He and I later were seat mates on Coach Davis's bus to McLaurin Jr High and got into all kind of shenanigans. Played on Richland Rangers first football team until he jetted to become a McLaurin Tiger football rival. He also got his groove there, becoming THE BEST popping breakdancer in the 3 local schools, always the show when he came to school dances. The next rejoining happened when I brought him and the whole Arnold Roberts clan of expert sheetrockers in to sheetrock my first house I built in Florence. Jeff was flying around on stilts, slinging mud and keeping the whole house laughing! Next was his baseball coaching of Shane with Pam. This was just like Arnold for him years before.. He became one of Richland Youth baseball's most successful and compassionate coaches and according to that era's director, He and Pam were his best, most trusted coaching parents. I enjoyed seeing them working together later during their P&J Produce days and their homeaid salsa there was EXCELLENT! Later, minus a big toe, he had everyone laughing again at Florence and Richland's, multi-school reunions when we went to both together. Lastly and one my fav era's was him getting to know my son Carter. Even when he did his last gig at nationwide truckstops and after, he would check in with me to keep up with what Carter was up to. We have super special Jeff signs for both me and Carter, but his love for kids continued to show and I was happy to have him as a part of Carter's life. He has said how much he's gonna miss Jeff too, but with 50 years of him with me, I understand. I'll be smiling over all these times and laughing about so many more we had, until I see him again and with him forevermore.....

Pam and Shane. We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Jeff. What a HOOT he was and what an impression he made on Joseph. Tommy and I were just talking about him a few weeks ago, now that baseball and softball has popped back up into our lives (thru our grands). Jeff made such an impact on so many young men’s lives and he throughly had the best time as well as the boys. Hands down best coach ever. Prayers for each of you during this most difficult time.
