Jeffery's obituary
His early years were typical of the time, including holiday trips, birthday parties and time just kidding around with his siblings. Jeff was gentle, kind and smart. His older brother Mike remembers giving Jeff an IQ test when they were children, with results that were really high! Jeff will be remembered as a man who valued his privacy but valued his family even more. Attending family events was high on his priority list. He won a junior achiever’s award in 1980 and flew from the conference in BC to attend his brothers wedding in Nova Scotia. Jeff loved to travel in Canada and made it as far as BC four times. He always provided support to family in times of need.
He trained as a chef as he loved to cook but he focused his working life on the taxi industry, first in Victoria, BC then was appreciated during the remainder of his career in Sarnia, ON with United Taxi. He retired early due to multiple chronic health issues. Despite health challenges summer would always find him in his vegetable garden, the harvest from which he would share with the neighbourhood. At other times when his wasn’t on his computer he would be cooking for anyone that was around.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a celebration of service will not be held. Memorial donations in Jeff’s memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca or the Canadian Mental Health Association, Lambton Kent Branch at www.canadahelps.org (Business No. 83879017RR0001).
