Jeffery (Jeff) Lane Harris -

Jeffery Lane Harris, 63 years old, peacefully passed away to his heavenly eternal home during his sleep early in the morning of Saturday, October 22nd, 2022, in Athens, Texas.

He was born in Dallas on September 1st, 1959, to the late Pat Rogers Harris and Helen Louise (Hargett) Harris.

Jeff grew up in East Texas and graduated from Athens High School. He worked for himself as a diligent bricklayer, owning his own business, Harris Bricklaying, for over 40 years and operating in and around the East Texas area. His enjoyments included listening to his favorite rock n’ roll music, cooking fantastic bar-b-cue foods, fishing wherever he could, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He had never missed a Cowboys game. Jeff was immensely proud of the children he had and raised and was known as "Uncle Jeff" to dozens of their friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parental and maternal grandparents, parents Pat and Helen Harris, sister Cynthia (Harris) Daves, and his twin daughters Mindy and Mandy Harris.

Survivors include his sons: Cody Harris and his wife Jeannie, Shane Harris and his wife Michelle, Daughters: Jennifer Nelson and Cassie, Marlie Bird and her husband Bryan, and twelve of his grandchildren, along with his brother, Steve Harris, sister, Karen Soderquist, and many nieces and nephews.
