Jefferson James Meyerink was born in Fremont, Nebraska, to Mark and Cheryl Meyerink, and grew up in Scribner, Nebraska. Jefferson attended Doane University and majored in Criminal Justice. After graduation, he spent time working as a probation officer, then moved into sales and construction management. Jefferson’s later career was as a project manager in the commercial construction industry.

Sports were a large part of Jeff’s life. He played softball and coached youth baseball. In his free time, he loved to play golf, support his daughter, Charlotte, in her athletic endeavors, and watch his nieces and nephews compete in their various sports. He also enjoyed helping his wife, Kathy, with various home improvement projects. He had a keen interest in politics.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughter, Charlotte; stepchildren, Drew and Blakely; father, Mark; sister, Jen, and her children, Nolan and Quinn, and sister, Katie, and her husband, Derek, and their children, Kya and Kolton.

Jeff is helping others after his death through his Gift of Organ Donation.
