Jeff's obituary
Jeff Glaze
7.21.41-7.20.23
Jeff returned to his heavenly father + beloved wife, Betty just before his 82nd birthday. He passed peacefully with family at his side at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA.
His life began along the Ohio River in Pomeroy, OH, then Phoenix, AZ. In the 60’s he formed the band, ‘The Casualtones’ backing Del Shannon, Little Richard, + the Righteous Brothers. The popular band played nightly gigs at clubs around Phoenix + Scottsdale. They released a 45 with: ‘Brand X’ + ‘Stacking Books’. He went on to record + release his own album: ‘Where No One Else Has Been’. His music will soon be released on Spotify. Jeff moved to CA + ran a successful DJ business from 1977- 2021. He was beloved by clients + employees alike. He married the love of his life, Betty in 1992. They had a love affair to remember, traveling + taking cruises.
His love of songwriting could not be suppressed; he scribbled snippets of songs on any scrap of paper at hand, whenever inspiration hit. This was evident by the multitude of scribbled lyrics both witty + heartfelt and the organized filing cabinet filled with lyrics waiting to be scored. After his passing his family + friends shared story after story about his offbeat humor. After all who else has themed passwords with classic hits like “tushpain” + “yumburps”??
He was preceded in death by his parents; Guy + Marvel Glaze, his daughter, Susan + his beloved wife, Betty. He is survived by his sister, Karen Roler, his children: Jeff Glaze(Diane), Cynthia Benefiel(Chuck), Ryan Glaze, Pamela Siddens(Joe) + Theresa Frank, 11 grandchildren + many greats along with nieces + nephews. In the humor of Jeff: He wasn’t bad for being lousy.
