Still going through pics to post…there are so many over the many years we knew and loved Jeanne. We have lost a family member and our hope is that she is finally at peace.

I used to deliver lunchtime meals for the Project On Aging here in Watauga County. Jeanne was for many years my first stop since she lived adjacent to the center. She was often asleep, but always managed to unlock the door and we exchanged a few kind words. I missed her when she went off my list and understood from Craig that she needed more help. I love seeing memories and pictures of her younger years...so much life! Thank you and peace be with you all.

It was a very sad day to hear the passing of Jeanne. Jeanne was an amazing woman. Jeanne could build anything from a retaining wall to a gazebo. Jeanne had a green thumb and could make anything grow, she loved her flowers. Jeanne was always happy to see you and always invited you into her house. Jeanne will truly be missed by so many. RIP !

I, and my late husband, Bob, were connected to Jeanne and Carlton through Jeanne’s college roommate, Brenda Hooper, who was married to Herb Hooper, who was a college athlete with my husband Bob. This circular connection of friendship was created in the early sixties, and continued to build over many decades. We met yearly with few exceptions until we all began to age and travel less. Jeanne was our host for both the first and the last of these yearly reunions. She provided the space for our shared experiences. As parents of five beautiful children who were similar in age, we had much to talk about in the early years. In later years our gatherings provided opportunities to contemplate life and we became witnesses for each other during the ups and downs in our life journeys. The stories that were birthed in our collective friendship became as precious as the meticulously placed momentos that Jeanne so carefully collected and saved throughout her life. Our experiences have become the stories that we now savor. We will dearly miss Jeanne.
May Kathryn, Craig and the extended family be comforted in this time of grief and be surrounded by love throughout their lives.
