Jeanne Marie Mercer passed away peacefully following a short illness in Dallas, Texas with her two children by her side. Jeanne lived for 61 years, of which she spent the last of them in Southern Texas. She is survived by her two children, Anna and Adam, her grandson Noah, and her siblings, Becky, Michael, and Janet. She earned an advanced degree from Sam Houston State University in counseling and spent the better part of her life working in education and counseling, focusing on helping both adults and children plan for their future and getting the assistance they need. She was loved by friends, family, and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. When Jeanne was not working, she helped care for animals of all kinds, often joking about wanting to adopt the occasional possum or skunk that wandered close to her house. Jeanne loved to laugh and always had a hundred questions to ask. In lieu of flowers she would prefer a donation be made that will be used to take care of local rescued cats.
