Jeanne's obituary
Jeanne was born in Plankinton, South Dakota on August 31, 1922 to Edna and Frank Way. She settled in Orange shortly after World War II and with her 1st husband, Norman Burbridge, designed and built the home where she raised her family and lived until her passing. Jeanne married Louis Lae on August 24, 1985 after the passing of Norman. Jeanne and Lou were the perfect match and enjoyed many wonderful and loving years together, traveling, gardening and cherishing each other’s company. Jeanne made a big impact on the lives of many that grew up in Orange, serving as the art director of Orange Recreation Dept. and then many more years at Palmyra and California Elementary Schools in the Orange Unified School District.
The loss is deep but Jeanne's well of friendship and warmth fills our hearts forever. Jeanne's nimble fingers have sewn many frocks of fancy and knitted cozy bonnets galore. Countless stockings are hung by chimneys far and wide, knitted with Jeanne's loving stitches, a reminder of our angel by our side. Jeanne's life is a beautiful woven quilt, and we are all are grateful to be part of the many patches and squares. Jeanne was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and lover of ladybugs and sunflowers. Family and friends have been bound together with cherished memories of Jeanne, a gift no one will ever take away.
Jeanne is survived by her husband Louis, four children, Steven Burbridge (Judy), Kristi Amsbry (Curt), Dennis Burbridge (Deena) and Thom Burbridge (Maggie) and her nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A special, graveside service will take place on Saturday, March 17th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Loma Vista Memorial Park - 701 East Bastanchury Road in Fullerton with social gathering of Family and Friends to follow.
