Jeanette's obituary
Jeanette June Sherry-Ross, born June 25, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, transitioned February 13, 2026.
Jeanette June Sherry-Ross was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Thomas and Lillie Sherry. She attended Ottawa High School and later worked for many years at Dickinson and Brothers Printing Press, where she dedicated herself faithfully.
Jeanette married Ephrin Ross, and together they made their home on Bemis Street, which became a place of love, warmth, and gathering for everyone. She was a devoted member of True Light Baptist Church for many years, where she served as an usher and loved singing in the choir.
Jeanette’s greatest passion was her grandchildren. She loved knitting everything from mittens to blankets, making sure her grandchildren never had to worry about being cold.
She was lovingly known as Big Mama, Grandmother, Aunt Jeanette, and Friend. She had a special way of making each person feel loved, as if they were her favorite.
In her later years, Jeanette resided at Willow Creek Cardinal Care Assisted Living Facility, where the staff treated her with love, respect, and care. She was affectionately known as “Grandma” by everyone there and will be remembered for her sweet little voice and her feisty spirit.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Ephrin Ross; her parents, Thomas and Lillie Sherry; and her children, Paulsteve Love, Paula Annette-Love Ridgel, Thomas Conley Love, and Diane Love-Shannon.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Sherry (Charlie D) Whitley; her daughter-in-law, Annie Love; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and loved ones.
