Jeanette K. Matheny (née Jonas), born on June 15, 1964, in Northwest Indiana, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 22, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jeanette was a graduate of Portage High School, class of 1982. Jeanette spent her early years in the Northwest Indiana area before retiring to enjoy life in California and Nevada. She was preceded in death by her father, Roland K. Jonas. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Ashley Moreno (Adam); her son, Mitchell Rospierski (Kara Coots); her mother, Vicki Jonas; her brother, Michael Jonas (Mish Hardt); and former husbands Carl D. Rospierski & Charles H. Matheny, respectively. Jeanette also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Cameron Moreno and Opal Rospierski, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, two former step-children, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

Jeanette worked in several restaurants local to Northwest Indiana throughout her career, she also won the top saleswoman of the year while working at Paul Heuring Ford, and top saleswoman while working as an agent at Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. She loved sunflowers, the ocean, and animals. Outside of work, she found joy in listening to music, fishing, spending time at the beach, and creating lasting memories with family and friends.

Her warmth and love for those around her will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched during her lifetime.
