Jeana's obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jeana Marie Burns, age 64, of St. Louis, MO, on August 8, 2024. Jeana passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
Jeana is survived by her beloved husband, Daryl Burns of 42 years. She was a loving mother to Joe (Joann) Burns and Brittany Burns (Gordon Wooldridge); and cherished grandmother to Easton Burns, Madison Burns, and Leela Wooldridge; and a dear daughter to Clara Veal.
Jeana was preceded in death by her father, Robert Veal.
Jeana grew up in Florissant and graduated from Hazelwood Central High School. Soon after, she met Daryl on a blind date and was married a few years later. She was a remarkable woman—a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who brought immense joy and laughter to everyone around her. She had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories, whether through her captivating stories, delicious food, or infectious spirit. Her heart was enormous, and her love for family and friends knew no bounds. The void she leaves behind is immeasurable, and her presence will be missed more than words can express. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
In honor of Jeana’s love for animals, particularly her deep affection for dogs, the family kindly requests in lieu of flowers for memorial donations to Stray Rescue of St. Louis in Jeana's honor.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on November 9th at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church at 10am. Celebration to follow at the Gateway Corkball Club.
