JEAN WOOD's obituary

Jean Wood Julien, 63, died after a cardiac arrest on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center and a long struggle with diabetes, coronary artery disease, and renal disease. He was born on September 11, 1956 in Jean Rabel, Haiti to Buron Philippe Bouzi and Amelia Julien. In 1981, he had his first daughter, Woodlyne, born from his high school sweetheart, Irene Belizaire. After separating in 1985, he married Wilda Murat in 1990 and together they had 2 children, Jeff Woodrow and Woody. They later separated in 2008. He also fathered another son Jamal from another relationship. Jean worked as a barber for 40 years and was particularly known for his business ventures and for opening one of the biggest beauty shop, Etiquette Barber and Beauty Salon, in the Haitian community. He received 3 Excellence Award in recognition of his dedication, excellence service, and work in the community from the American Barber Association, including the Certificate of Recognition from the Mayor of North Miami Florida. Jean is survived by his children: Woodlyne, Jeff, Woody, and Jamaal and his grandsons Jaywood and Jaylhans. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Notre Dame D'Haiti Catholic Church located on 110 NE 62nd Street, Miami FL 33138. Memorial donations may be made in Jean's name to at Pax Villa 54 NE 54th Street, Miami FL 33137 ATTN to Woodlyne Julien.
