Jean Nedrud, a longtime resident of Santa Clarita, CA passed away to the Lord, Sunday July 27 , 2025.  Born December 22, 1935  in Royal Oak,  Michigan, Jean  moved to California in 1956 after graduating from nursing school . Working at a Santa Monica hospital she met and married the love of her life Merrill Nedrud, an orderly from Minot, North Dakota  who caught her eye and heart forever.

Married in 1957, they embodied a life of love, challenges, and most of all, devotion to each other and their family of five children: Judy, Lisa, Marcy, Erik, and Kathleen and eleven grandchildren: Adam, Nicolas, Kristin, Jenna, Sara, Mathew, Lucas, Jillian, Cassandra, Alex, and Ally

Holidays, reading, cooking  and children were special highlights to her life. " She always made Christmas and Thanksgiving feel extra special. She spoiled her children and grandchildren with presents which added to the joy of the season"

Jean faced challenges in her later years because Merrill had Alzheimers during the last 3 years of his life so caring for him herself eventually became impossible. But her love for him never waivered. Eventually she herself had to move into an assisted living facility during the last 2 years of her life.

Jean will be missed but the family knows she is in a better place and is reunited with Merrill and other family members who have passed.
