Jean and I were colleagues at Shady Hill and stayed friends after I left SHS. I will remember her excellent cooking (often one of her father’s recipes), her creativity and skill with a needle and thread, her flowery and flowy summer dresses, her Volvos (one named Vinnie?), and her many stories about her beloved family.  To use one of her phrases, she “grok-ed” a lot of subjects, skills, and people in her life.

My condolences to the family.

Jean and I were colleagues for years at Shady Hill. We shared a penchant for music teachers and had many a laugh together. I’m so sorry for your loss. I know how much she loved her west coast family.

My deepest sympathies to Jean's family.  I taught at Shady Hill with Jean who was a friend and respected colleague.  I visited her on the Cape one summer where she showed me fun places, the beach, and ice cream shops.  I remember that she would only go to one side of the beach, so of course, I tried to convince her to go to the other side to no avail! I often think about Jean, and I'll miss her.

To Jean's family--

I am so sorry to receive this news. I was a brand new teacher at Shady Hill in the late '80's, and Jean was one of the "senior faculty" then. She was always so kind to me, and did great work with kids. I admired her and learned a lot just by watching her. I have always been grateful for her thoughtfulness and gentle expertise during those years.

With deepest condolences,     Susan Kline

My condolences to Jean's family. Jean was a cherished friend, mentor and colleague. She made me laugh with her dry wit and colorful stories about her student’s shenanigans. I will miss her dearly.
