Jean Ann Ketchman Scott

Jean Ann Ketchman Scott, 77, passed away peacefully in her home on March 15, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Lansing, Michigan, on February 27, 1948, Jean moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 1971, where she built a life filled with love, curiosity, and dedication. She was a proud lifetime employee of Publix Supermarkets, where her hard work and friendly spirit touched many lives.

Jean was a woman of many passions. She loved reading and was a gifted writer, often finding joy and expression through words. A dedicated coin collector, she treasured the stories each piece told. She also held a deep fascination with ancient Egyptian history and delighted in learning about its mysteries. Above all, Jean was an animal enthusiast, providing care and affection for countless cats and even squirrels throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sam and Hildred Ketchman. Jean leaves behind her daughter, Jacki Ketchman of Tampa, Florida, and two cherished grandchildren, Jasmine Seales and Natasha Ketchman, both of Tampa, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. on Crescent Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jean’s name to the Humane Society of Sarasota County.

Jean will be remembered for her kindness, her curiosity, and the love she gave so freely.
